Last Soldier Paul Fox
Private Paul Fox was the last living Civil War soldier of Ida County in Iowa but was buried in Waco Cemetery in York County, Nebraska. This memorial is listed under both Ida County and Nebraska. He served in Company A of the 116th Indiana Infantry. On 8/21/17 Ron and Marilyn Rittel placed a marker to recognize Private Fox as the Last Soldier and honor his service. The SUVCW, Iowa Department, is recognizing the Last Soldier of each Iowa County. The small town of Waco is west of Lincoln just north of I-80. The cemetery is on the SW corner of town. Thanks to the Rittel's for their photos taken 8/21/17.
